In my construction law practice, I represent homeowners, contractors, subcontractors, and business owners. Many of my clients are homeowners with disputes with their own homeowner’s insurance company, after their homes have been damaged, for example, by fire or water, and they are not able to obtain adequate payment from the insurer for the cost of repair. I also represent (1) homeowners and business owners and (2) contractors or subcontractors, or other construction professionals, who have disputes with one and other over payment, allegedly incomplete or inadequate design or construction, and/or possible Building Code violations and similar problems.
As a personal injury lawyer, I represent individuals who have been injured in accidents involving motor vehicles (cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles). When a person has been injured in an accident, there are several different insurance coverage’s potentially involved, including each driver’s own health insurance policy, and the various coverage’s in each driver’s automobile insurance policy, including the collision coverage (for physical damage to one’s own automobile), liability coverage (to protect against liability claims brought against the driver of a vehicle by an injured party), and medical payments coverage (a usually limited supplemental source of payment for medical bills). I can assist you in deciding how to use, apply, and coordinate these coverage’s, and in dealing with your insurance company or the insurance company for the other party or parties involved in an accident. If I am representing a Plaintiff in a motor vehicle accident case, all attorneys fees are on a contingency basis – you do not pay any attorney fees unless I recover compensation for you. If I am representing a Defendant in a motor vehicle accident case, attorneys fees are charged hourly (since there is no potential recovery on which to base a fee), but I will assist you in securing coverage from your own insurance company to pay these fees.
I have many years of past experience representing insurance companies in all kinds of insurance disputes, including insurance litigation, in reference to virtually all kinds of insurance, including personal lines (for individuals) and commercial (for businesses). Currently, I use my insurance law background and experience to represent claimants against insurers. This includes, for example, negotiating a resolution to claims disputes (refusal of the insurer to pay claims, or inadequate payment), or where necessary, filing suit against insurers.
At my office I also handle disputes/litigation involving real property, for both residential and commercial clients, including boundary disputes, easement disputes, and disputes regarding the purchase or sale of real property, the exercise of options to renew leases, or to purchase real property, among others.
